Before you bring me into your world

Take A Step Into Mine

Like most of you reading this, I didn't have a clue about what I wanted to do for a living. It just sort of happened. I knew that I didn't want to be doing something I didn't enjoy. I had worked as a salesman, barman and in an office. I just never felt like these roles were fulfilling and I've never been the kind of person to stick with something I'm not enjoying. I have always had a creative spirit and I wanted my job to reflect that. I had been around people in my life that had been involved with photography and I had always thought it looked fun and therapeutic. With that thought; I went and did something completely crazy. I invested my inheritance from my late nan into photography equipment - without the faintest idea of how to use it.

I spent some months throwing myself out there, doing free images for anyone that would have me. I did pet photography, event photography and I collaborated with some really cool creatives. People seemed to like what I was doing for them, so I kept trying and failing; pushing and pushing. I loved the sheer risk that I had taken in myself, it had given me determination that I had never felt before. With that small taste of what it would be like to do this as a job, I was off - doing anything I could to push myself out there even further. I searched high and low for a job that would get my foot in the door to being recognised as a professional photographer.

I applied for anything and everything; knowing that there was probably no chance in hell that anyone would be interested... until... finally. I had received an email back from a company that was genuinely interested in taking me on. I had always said to my family that I would never do school photography; but this is where my professional photography journey began. Since then I have grown as a photographer and as a person! I have taken photos behind the scenes of the pilot episode for a sitcom and I have even taken some snaps at Boomtown! I never know where I'll end up next, but maybe you do..

Launching this website is a huge achievement for me. I have put hours of love, care and attention here. It represents my passions, my interests and my dedication to finalising my career change. This is just the beginning.
